In Russia, lethal weapons are either forbidden or their sale is strictly regulated. However, there is no law to control the sale of another deadly weapon that all of us can access. Widespread and powerful, it causes numerous deaths on a daily basis. Over 90% of all plastic ever produced has not been recycled. It is still present in the environment and in landfills, with over 1 million animals dying annually as a result of its ingestion (according to the United Nations Ocean Conference fact sheet). Humans are not immune either, with harmful plastic micro-particles entering our bodies through water and food.

Disposable plastic is a weapon of mass destruction

EVERY YEAR ABOUT 1,000,000 SEA BIRDS AND MORE THAN 100,000 SEA MAMMALS GET MURDERED
BECAUSE OF PLASTIC. ONLY 9% OF PLASTIC PRODUCED IS PROCESSED, 12% IS BURNED,
AND THE REMAINING 79% IS FOUND IN LANDFILLS OR IN THE ENVIRONMENT.

These prints are a part of the wide-scale campaign by Greenpeace Russia and POSSIBLE Moscow aimed at raising awareness of the situation.
