Arctic sea ice reached its minimum extent last autumn. Ice is the main habitat for polar bears. This is where they hunt and breed. Global climate change causes the ice to melt, which means that polar bears may be left without a place to live. Currently there are about 20 to 25 thousand polar bears in the world. By 2050, the population may decrease by 75%! Main factors that endanger the animals include climate change, poaching, pollution.
